How to merge cells? remove borders of cells and make it one large cell?


Sometimes you have to fill large text into a single cell, but you don’t want to change the column width. An example is table heading.  To do that Select cell’s you wish to Merge from the home tab menu. Corner of the Merge command press drop down menu will appear. From here
Merge & Center: Merges the selected cells into one cell and text will place into the centre of the cell
Merge Across: Merges the selected cells into larger cells while keeping each row separate
Merge Cells: Merges the selected cells into one cell, but does not centre the text

Unmerge Cells: Unmerges selected cells 



How to fill large text in to a cell? Change cells size to fit large content? How to Increase the cell’s row height ?

Whenever you have a large text needs to place into a single cell, for that we have two options one is merge the cells another one wraps the text. 

Select cell’s you wish to wrap the text from the home tab menu. Select the same wrap the text menu to unwrap the text.




How to unhide columns and rows in excel

When we hide the column or row the hidden column or row become a green line. if we want to unhide column or row
First, we need to select both sides of rows or columns of the hidden columns or rows

Right click the mouse and select the unhide from the menu. The hidden columns or rows reappear again

In the excel it is very easy to inserting, deleting, moving rows and columns. go to cell panel select your required option. before inserting we have to select where our new row or column will be inserted. or which column or row should be deleted. 


when you want to hide column or rows there are two methods. first, we need to select column or row to hide or unhide then, choose any one of  methods 

goto command control panel of cells > formate  > visibility ->  hide or unhide



or simply right click on row or columns that you want to hide or unhide

To add a border to the cell
1. Select the cell(s) you wish to modify.

In this example, I choose the thick box border. 


To add a fill colour

1. Select the cell(s) you wish to modify.
2. Click the drop-down arrow next to the Fill Color command on the Home tab. The Fill Color menu will appear.
3. Select the fill colour you want to use

1. Select the cell(s) you wish to modify.

2. Click the Cell Styles command on the Home tab, then choose the desired style from the drop-down menu.

How to Modifying Columns, Rows and Cells in Excel?


By default, every column, row and cell is set to be fixed height and width. Excel allows users to modify these items, including increasing or decreeing of height, width and merging cells etc.

To change column width
1. Position the mouse over the column line in the column heading to the white cross becomes a double arrow.

2. Click, hold, and drag the mouse to increase or decrease the column width

3. Remember If you see a pound or hash signs (#######) in a cell, it means that the column is not enough to display the cell text content. To solve this error simply increase the column width to show the cell content

How to change several columns width at the same time in Excel? same size for all columns?



The width for several columns at the same time. Simply select the columns you would like to AutoFit, then select the AutoFit Column Width command from the Format drop-down menu on the Home tab. This method can also be used for Row height.


1. Position the mouse over the column line in the column heading so the white cross becomes a double arrow .
2. Double-click the mouse. The column width will be changed automatically to fit the content

How to modify or resize all rows or columns at the same time?




To resizing rows and columns individually will be time-consuming, you can modify the height and width of every row and column at the same time. This method will make your all columns, rows, and cells will be the same size.

Locate and click the Select All button just below the formula bar

Position the mouse over a row line so the white cross changed to double arrow.
Click, hold, and drag the mouse to increase or decrease the row height or columns width
Release the mouse when you are satisfied with the new row height or Columns width for the worksheet.
